In Spring 2016, Joe enrolled in Drexel University’s Library and Information Science graduate degree program with concentrations in Archival Studies and Digital Curation. He was a 2007 audio production intern at Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in Washington D.C. and subsequently worked in audio preservation at George Blood Audio/Safe Sound Archive in Philadelphia. He has also participated in several oral history projects with the Louisiana State Museum, Friends of the Cabildo, and New Orleans Jazz Museum as a co-recipient of grants from the Threadhead Cultural Foundation. He currently works as a Contract Archivist for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation Archive and hopes to use his degree to further his work with recorded sound collections.
Joe is a member of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC), Society of American Archivists (SAA), and the Greater New Orleans Archivists (GNOA).
He was recently awarded a 2017 ARSC Conference Travel Grant to attend the 51st annual ARSC Conference in San Antonio, TX this May.
